So how hard should i kill him?

I was told many years ago by a vet named Dr Dye, NEVER BURY A SICK ANIMAL. The reason being that the disease could live in the ground and would infect other animal that would dig there. Take it to animal control or a vet and let them dispose of it.

Shoot it 12 gauge hard with #2 lead. Stops 'em in their tracks. I've seen a coon take a full load of 20 gauge #6 fall from the tree and give 3 coon hounds all they could handle, for a while.

Who still shoots a 10 gauge? Not exactly an easy gun to find ammo for plus not something most women would handle much less many men--would kick them into the next county.

I don't have to worry about losing birds anymore. I have leg hold traps under some cages, and I have live traps by the chickens so they won't get hurt while free ranging. My border collie has learnt how to tree coons too. If it gets any worse I got a shotgun setting by the door. My new year's resolution was to not loose any birds to coons, and so far that is what I have done.

Thats just wrong..3 shots from a 38 or 9 m, and was still alive ???????? A well placed shot from a 22 will kill a coon, I know have kill over 20 this year..all with a 22 long.

Chest shot or brain shot..........can you say a cop with bad aim.........

All You really need is a good shot with a .22 hallow point heart or head shot (Head shot is best right between the eyes) 3 years I killed one of the little buggers with a Crossman pellet rifle 5 pumps between the eyes went down solid at 25 foot never got back up

Oh BTW 10 ga amo is readily available up in missouri they use them to goose hunt a lot here

Ernie

ALSO if the cop shot it animal control is supposed to come out and dispose of ALL sick animals and cremate them to destroy all bacteria and viruses!! Never bury it will
