so how much longer until i see eggs?

these gals are 26 weeks old now, the black ones are squating and of course the silkies are'nt doing anything.So when do you think i will see some eggs from the big ones

If they are squatting then you will see eggs soon! Don't give up and be sure to post that first egg picture - there's a whole thread just for that!

It sounds like it should be soon so don't get discouraged. I have had hen that took 36 weeks to start laying.
 
thanks for the positive reply's, they are taken forever and ever and ever:). they have been squatting for at least a week. well two of them are ,the third just started a few days ago. hard not to trip over them when you are trying to walk and they stop right in front of you to squat.
 
Hi! I think it's the cutest thing when they squat for you....I always pet them when they do that. Usually, like others have mentioned, it's a good sign that eggs will be coming rather quickly.....like maybe in the next week or sooner! Some of the heavier breeds take a bit longer than 20 weeks to mature and lay those first eggs.

Oh, first eggs are awesome! I always enjoy checking the nest boxes for eggs, it's like getting a Christmas present everytime there's an egg there! LOVE IT!

so ill i had to do was ask how long and bam i got an egg today.

she laid it in the one little spot in the pen that had water (horse hoof indent in ground) so i dont think i will eat it.
