Sorry-a late arrival to the thread. I raise serama bantams and you are correct on the incubation period. Funny, I have been considering having my pigeons hatch serama as I have enough pigeons flying around the yard. My soft-hearted wife thinks that would be awful, so I've left the pigeon eggs so far.

In my case I only have one boy who is a rescue, Squabble, who was going nuts over not having any eggs to sit on the moment his shiny neck feathers grew in... 😆 Which is a bit odd for him to start to do so early and already be an absolute pro at sitting, I feel it is his feral genes as I found him at roughly 2 months old on the street.

First set of eggs I put under him didn't develop at all, which happens, so I slipped two other eggs under him while removing the duds and within 3 days I saw life developing.
Another clue that the first set were duds is Squabble started losing interest in them, but after I swapped the duds, his interest had renewed. Guess I am his hen. XD

OMG!! love it!!! I had a pigeon growing up that I found in a similar way but she was an adult. She was amazing!!!!!

I feel pigeons are similar to parrots in which they choose people. They even put up a 'woe is me' act to be picked up and taken home, and once they have already set themselves in your heart, they drop the act and make themselves home. 😆

@Lacy Duckwing
Ya singing a lullaby to the eggies with the pings on my phone. 🤣
I had to go back and take another peek at them before tucking them back under Squabble and giving him a good boi scritch.
Sorry about that. :lol:
I can't wait for them to hatch! I hope that there's going to be a picture overload! :love:love:love
Are you planning on keeping any of them, or are you not sure yet?

There will be a picture overload when they hatch, also super curious what the babies will look like. :p
I am probably going to be keeping my first babies, but I may hatch out more in the future with Squabble (or one of the actual Seramas if they go broody 🤣 ) that I'll sell. ^^ I already have some people interested in chicks, and I can branch into selling fertile eggs now too.

To say I only have three hens... The eggs pile up fast!
