There's nothing wrong with handling eggs and candling them! As long as you don't leave them out in the cold for hours on end, it's fine. Those eggs look like duds and were never fertile to begin with.

I disagree. The less embryos are jostled unnecessarily and exposed to bright lights, the better. Especially in the first couple weeks.
