I am getting ready to write an essay and the question is (reader's digest version) what are you going to bury in your backyard that your future relatives will dig up in 200 years that is going to bring them so much money that "it will put all their financial worries to rest". I am lacking creative ideas so I figured I would ask my fellow BYC'ers for a little inspiration.

Anything would be appreciated

I'll throw in some guns and posters from the 60's and 70's. I would throw in records but they would most likely think they are primative frisbees.

Gemstones... small so you can cram a LOT in there... won't deteriorate (since they are rocks after all)... and at least so far in human history have been a horded, high priced item for centuries. Gold and Silver are awesome too, but can get heavy and bulky and likely set off the metal detectors of any nosey thief who might wander over... gems won't do that, and you won't need to put them in a metal/air tight box to keep them safe as you would stock certs, baseball cards, stamps, paper money, etc.

Also make sure they aren't composites (some stores are selling 50% coms as regulars) or lab created... you want the real McCoy.

As to papers... the deed to the land might be good, with GPS coordinates, because just look at the land disputes that've gone on just in our country in the last 200+ years... nightmare... so that might be handy to toss into a zip lock and put in with the goodies.
