I don't think so. I hatched quail chicks last week and they did not all chirp when pipped.

This is so exciting! I read through the thread and am eager to see the chicks when they hatch! What breed are they?

Quail is something I have down to try one day. I don’t think I would raise them though, so will have to look into a plan to sell them...

These two eggs are some kind of backyard bantam frizzle cochin mix I got off a craigslist lady, so I guess I’ll be getting surprise bantam chicks!

Two little nibbly beaks... This was what I missed out on when hatching under the broody.

I could watch them forever

A huge hunk of shell popped off the thick shelled egg, so I coconut oiled the membrane and covered half of the hole with a piece of oiled tissue. Probably just me worrying for nothing, but I didn’t want the inner membrane to dry out...

You just mentioned previously that humidity was high,,,, I don't think you have too much concern about shrink wrapped

I took my eyes off the crockpot for half and hour and came back to....



Looks like it was a nice clean hatch
