so mad at feed store

An easy way my feed store sells them is you get 10 free if you buy a bag of feed. Thats why I went there this morning and they were all out expect the poor bantams. I asked the manager what breed he goes, bantam. lol He is so thought less that man. And when I told them what was wrong with them, he said they were "ONLY" bantams. LIke bantams dont mean anything

I plan on doing something about the situation today. He said he would change there shavings and dry em off. I will check on em today and if they are in bad condition like yesterday, I will report them. Well on the bright side, my chicks are doin wonderful!

That is rotton! Sorry your feed store is such a bad experience

but good the chicks are doing well. I have gone to one store like that, in Sonora, CA and it was awful. There were about 6 dead, drowned chicks in the waterer, to where nobody else could really get a drink. And they were all sopping wet and crammed together. If I had more room I would start a chicken rescue lol!

My local feed store is owned and run by the mayor of the town [it IS a small town, but still cracks me up every time]. Lyle takes the best care of his little chicks, and more than once I have gone in to see him hunched over the cage with a handful of shavings in his hand making sure they're all right. He even let me take home a sick duck yesterday, she's doing fine now I think she was just overwhelmed. I'm going to get her a buddy tomorrow and a few more chicks if he has any left. He takes time out of his personal day off, Sunday's, to go up to the store and check on the chicks. I really like buying birds from him he's always got the best intentions with his animals.

It's sad to know that not every body is that well taken care of. I know just one town over I refuse to even go into their store because of the conditions their birds are always in, and this being small town central no one seems to give a rats arse and reporting them goes unnoticed. Makes me so mad!

Good job rescuing the little guys, I do believe we need pictures to see how cute they are now.

i hate it when people abuse defenseless animals! Exspecially cute little baby chickies!! Who would or could do that!
