When she said she has others like it at home, you should have said, thats ok my husband bought a 20 pack of bullets and since he used 2 on your last dog we should have enough.
So sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful roo
I live in a very rural area, kind of place where folks dump there unwanted dogs. I hate it, I wish they had to see what happens to them. Most of the neighbors in the area (3/4 mile to nearest neighbor) have an understanding since everyones dogs are lose. If my dog (red healer) is doing wrong just take care of it and vice versa. I've had to put my own dogs down and recently my parents weimerainer (bad night) and I always hate it ,it's a terrible thing. Recently we have had some dogs packing up and running deer literally to death. A wise older neighbor told me once " just do what needs to be done and never say a word to anyone" Over the years that has proved to be good advice.
I *always, always, always* keep my dogs contained, at all costs, no matter what. And things like this are just one reason why.
One neighbor of mine often let his Husky go. Intentionally. On purpose. He'd let the dog out into the neighborhood. When I asked him why in the world he was doing this, he said his philosophy was "one day of freedom is better than a life time of confinement", so he would not feel any regret if he let his dog out and it got hit by a car or picked up by Animal Control!!! I am not kidding.
And I especially looooove the people that get mad at you when you come to tell them their animal is out running loose.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your pretty Jack. I'm glad to hear the cow got nothing but a direct hit in the pocket book, since she's got no brains functioning in her head and her heart is in her shoe.
I would normally practice the SSS but I had caught him at first and called animal control to pick him up, this was before I found my roo spread out all over the backyard. He got away from me though and ran into the woods. Came back a little later and hubby dispatched with the 12 ga which she later objected to in court. Is okay though I went out and got something a little easier to handle, 40 cal handgun, maybe she would like that better
.
She has 5 huskies left at her place, all behind a 4 foot fence
. Will not call animal control next time and with someone that irresponsible I am sure there will be a next time. I do have hope though, she was disrespectful to that judge and he has zero tolerance for bad dogs owners so she will be watched closely be police and animal control now
. Dogs have the potential to add so much to a family and idiots like this just tick me off. They should make people pass a test before they let them have children or dogs.

With 5 more Huskies nearby, I would get a trained LGD. Surely someone near you has one they will sell, loan or give to you. My LGD would love to have some Huskie playmates.
Someone once said Huskies taste just like chicken!
Our Buddy (an Anatolian Sheperd weighing about 130#) would dispatch a Huskie in seconds and bury the evidence himself!
Of course, she is probally going to make certain the other five live longer. Not a good idea to disrespect the one wearing the black robe and swinging a gavel!
Here is a thought: order 100 roosters and build them a real nice coop as near as possible to her house. Face the coop towards her and insulate the rear and sides for sound. That way she can enjoy lots of early morning music!

Ooooh, I love Anatolians!!
I am so hoping to get one of my own soon.
Jenni2142, you do whatever you have to do... protect your surviving chickens. I have no personal vendetta against Huskies at all, but they are known for their love of escaping and I doubt that woman would even notice one was missing until you shoot it and bring it back to her doorstep.
And who the heck honestly believes a freakin' four foot tall fence is actually going to keep a Husky contained?!?!
