So Many Sea Monkeys!!!

Most Defiantly. Another good Shrimp for beginners would be the Ghost Shrimp.

Well, going on day 4 and they are doing well. I am noticing a few dead ones here and there, but that's to be expected.

I've set up two 20oz. tanks with about 100 shrimps in them. These are the colonies I intend to keep and grow to adulthood.

If anyone else wants a mini kit I am selling them for $7.00. This includes 100 eggs, a 20oz. tank, sand for the bottom of the tank, and enough food for a couple of months. They are very easy and fun to raise.

Here's a picture of the shrimp in the big tank. Each dot is shrimp and that's not even half of them!

Here's on of my mini tanks.

I hope you have food for them if you want to grow them

And keeping them airated! They need the air for more than just hatching. Here is a resource on growing them....

Sorry Kevin... the photo you found isen't a Brine Shrimp.. thats another, larger, kind of shrimp (alot of folks mis-label the photos online)... this is what the BS look like

Really cool though... I have yet to hatch these out, but months ago when I was getting fish from Thailand.. I had them include some Fairy Shrimp eggs in my order

The Fairy Shrimp are much like the Brine Shrimp, they are close, close relatives and look/act/sized alike... only the Fairy Shrimp come from fresh water bodies, so no need for all that salt measuring you have to do with the BS.
I still haven't hatched out my Fairy Shrimps yet... I have the food for them, Spirlulina Algae... but we are using the the air lines in our other tanks, LOL.
I've been thinking recently of making the Fairies a little mesh bag and sticking it in the fish tank above the air wand.. Hehe!

In the instructions for them... which seemed to have been translated to English from Thai (REALLY funny, the way it's phrased)... it keeps referring to the Fairy Shrimps as "The Party"... So, "Food for growing the Party" "Make the sun to shine on the Party" "To keep the Party going..."

Agreed!!!

thanks for the info, Squishy. I've actually already read that site over when I was doing my original research.

Well, all is still well in the shrimpy world. I haven't noticed many more dead ones. I'm thinking they died when I changed some of the water out on them, but the tank was getting gross.

So after responding to your thread here... I went and found my little thingamy of Fairy Shrimp eggs and just dumped a tiny bit in the extra bubbly side of my tank. I only used a little as I was sure they would be eaten by the fishes in short order if they got big enough to see

but better than letting the eggs just go bad...

So they hatched today at some point... but it took me forever to realize they had! These things are like ... 1/3 the size of Baby Brine Shrimp! And they were clear colored instead of orange, so I could barely see them even looking for them... just thought the tank looked cloudy, LOL!

I put some powedered Spirlulina algae in there tonight.. and they seemed to feast on it right away .. maybe they were ready for dinner much earlier, LOL... so then I could see them much easier as I had little jerky bright green clouds... LOL!

Well see how they do and I'll keep you updated

Way cool!! I never see the brine shrimp eating since they are so small.

God luck to you with your little shrimpies.

I learned how to ship live brine shrimp! Turns out it's really simple.
