has this happened to any of you? im just about to break down!

Why? It sounds like that is a choice you are making. If they are really "beloved pets", why get rid of them for just this reason?

Living in suburbia I am only allowed 10 "poultry" So last year I decided to Make room for the Indian Runners I had wanted for so long. It did mean that I gave away a number of ducks I had hand raised- But ultimately I have been happy with my decision. I did of course keep 3 of my absolute favorites that I couldnt part with. Harvey was a rescue Drake that cost me $1000 in vet bills...No way he is going anywhere...So that meant his little wife Crumpet had to stay. And then There is Monty...the good for nothing huge big fat Aylesbury who still likes to come inside and watch TV with us.
I wish I could live somewhere with an acre or two to allow me to have had more ducks..but keeping the number down to ten now I have my Runners is impossible.

This sounds more like my situation.... believe me if I didn't have i wouldnt i need to make room and they're eggs arent selling and it is just stressing me out. This is to make room for the others not to just have "Show" chickens. and im keeping my two favorites, and they are going to go and live with the ducks. im just sad that they arent that great sellers and im going to have to get rid of them.

I have limited space, so yes, I've been through this. Maybe you could give them to a friend or someone you can trust? Then you can see them every now and then.....

it doesnt but i need room for my 4H chickens and the chickens i use to go to open shows with

I am sorry you have to get rid of them.. If you cannot find a home for them I may be able to give them one.. I have EE's atm and love them dearly.. plus I am only about 1/2 hour away from you. Let me know

I think I have found them a nice home where they are going to be the only chickens there! Like i said i get to keep 2 out of the 5.... but its going to be hard. I'm only allowed 4 pens because i live in a rental house. So this is what i had to do to keep the rest of my birds that i have big plans for. And these birds are going to help me save up for like 3 hens from Mike Gilbert. So its a really good cause, I guess...
