Any of ya'll have experience with Gemzar?

I think I'm starting to deal with one of the side effects. Lurchie made me a steak dinner with baked 'tater and I barely ate anything. You are talking about a person who can knock off a 20oz Prime Rib with sides and an appetizer!

Nothing tastes right, I fill up really quickly, and no real appetite. Bleah! Otherwise, I'm doing good so far. Only one treatment, but hey, I'm on a roll!! LOL

What's everyone up too?!!
 
You will need energy to make healthy cells, try to eat something. Maybe cold will feel good. Ice cream or frozen yogurt, fruit Popsicle, frozen fruit, or regular yogurts in the freezer. Do not go without calories. Even if you feel you could shed a few pounds, now is not the time to do it.
Make a list of calories that you do consume and keep the numbers set at at least 1400.
Your body is fighting make sure the guns are loaded!

I am ya'll everything just tastes crappy! Lurchie even took me to Red Lobster today because I was craving Lobster Bisque. Had an appetizer to go with it!!

I need to get some protein powders so that I can make some shakes. Something that has lots of bold flavors. Everything tastes like dirt.

I'll be less cranky when I get this stint out Tuesday. I never feel the stones, but I sure feel this dang thing!!!
 
I know nothing about cancer treatments but I do remember reading something about vitamin k butter oil helping with appetite and energy. I wish I could find the article but it stuck in my mind. We are thinking of you. Keep shoveling those calories in.
 
Cindi - So sorry that things have been tasting like crud. Have you ever tried Orgain? (nutritional shakes that come in vanilla, chocolate and I think mocha or similar, more flavors being developed). Testimonials from people going through a myriad of health challenges say it's the only thing they can tolerate at times. I bought some for my dad to try as he's been sick for several months - he didn't end up trying it (his dopey doctor has warned him away from anything 'nutritional' - utter nonsense) so I ended up drinking it and now drink it practically every day. The only thing - it is not cheap - sometimes stores will run good sales and at other times people order via amazon.com where I think free shipping is offered on this. It's now carried in many many stores across the country - various locations of Whole Foods, Costco, and well beyond......
Anyway, hoping things start tasting better soon for you

We need to get you on National news too. If a harrassed bus driver can elicit help then you should too. I think we should all be forwarding this to some of the big national news. On the off chance i am lucky today and the big news doesn't pan out I'll go buy a lottery ticket too.
