We've been getting those "slight rain" weather reports too. We get a dark cloud and we all get excited and .......nothing. And no rain in sight that I can see, just threats lately. I'm sorry about your tree. Those aren't cheap either.

Awww poor dog. Which dog are you talking about? Not your service one!?

Thought we were going to get some good rain this evening. Got my hopes up and I think I scared it off. It rained somewhere. Could see the sky lighting up all around us but.......... I'm on the top of one of the smaller mountains in the western piedmont of NC. You can just about see 360* especially if you go up the street a bit. I think that is why we miss a lot of the rain, it rains itself out before it gets to us. Good thing is, even though we may get a bunch of wind, we don't get the wind sheers, or microbursts like just 5 miles away.

So glad things went well today. You are AWESOME!! You have taken total control of this and not allowed one bit of doubt enter your mind. You are going to beat this and I think the cancer knows it too! I'm sure it's packing it's bags and looking for someone else to harrass. This is the attitude that EVERYONE facing this disease needs to win!!

I had a place "out" on the enclosed patio. I was there for hours, most of it asleep but it was my place to escape. I would talk with folks at first and then apologize that I was going to be knocked out soon due to the benedryl. Most of the time, the rest of the folks out there were only there for a short time or were knocked out like me, lol. In the front room there was a big fish tank and folks all seemed to know each other. I sat out there one time towards the end of my treatments. I felt soooooo exposed, lol. Just couldn't get comfortable out there. There as another area where folks who wanted to be alone or with a family member would sit.

Yes it's my Service Dog, Spook. We had to take her back into the vet this morning. She's not doing well. She is in the early stages of kidney failure. We are trying to get things started again with Iv fluids. I give them to her every 4-6 hours. Right now it's touch and go. I was so excited earlier when she actually pee'd, lol. We will know one way or the other before the weekend is over. I've not prepared myself to say good-bye to her yet. I just lost my 17year old Bashful kitty. Not ready to do it again so soon.

Remember POSITIVE THOUGHTS!! That's all that is allowed!!

Two more - excellent!

Yes, stinkin' hot yesterday and yet wallah - today is now forecast to be even worse... Hate to even leave my babies as it was already 80 degrees by 5:30 a.m. this morning. Definitely to be 100+ super stinkin' degrees here today according to the local forecast. And fiercely sopping wet oppressive. Air is very thick (am I the only one who finds it morally reprehensible to don business clothes at a time like this?

). Anyway, apparently we get a one day break tomorrow and then Sat/Sun/Mon bad again. BJ and Ellie made it through yesterday okay and I am debating forcing them to stay in today where at least there is a fan...but that might stress Ellie and she can't afford stress in this heat. That little fireball is hysterical when she is released from the coop as she runs like the wind into the run to check out the new day, even if to us it looks much the same as it did the day before

This is what I want a critical mass of humans to know about chickens. They adore life.
Hope you and your little charges fair well today. You deserve to celebrate coming into the home stretch of this journey you're on!
Off to the races...

Hi, Luna. So glad to know you only have the two treatments left
ya.gif
You go girl! I am very proud of you and you are in my thoughts often.
The weather here has been unmercifully dry and hot. We have been seeing alot of heat lightning late in the evenings and it is quite beautiful but it makes me long even more for the rain that seems not to be forthcoming. My pitiful little raised bed garden is all but toast. Seems no matter how hard I try I can't keep enough moisture there to sustain the plants.

CoyoteMagic, I am so very sorry to hear about your service dog.

and my prayers will be with her and you both through this difficult time. I so hope it turns around for the good.

Hi Luna,
Been way busy tending the gardens. Not only mine but a few other clients.
Was thinking of you and decided to be the moonflower bandit and plant moonflowers in a few extra gardens. And I don't mean mine

.
Glad to hear things are going well.

CM- Spook is in mine and Spikes thoughts.

Argh! No AC since Friday. I'm miserable. It's awful here, hot, humid and i'm so tired. Yesterday I slept for 3 hrs in the afternoon. I never did that before, nothing else I can do.

And then the modem went on the comp. We traded it in, but don't have the password for our account - it's at work. So we're taking turns on the laptop. Last night must have been graduation party night. With all the windows open I had a lovely night of listening to screaming party goers. Then at 1:30 am some asshat smashed into my daughter's boyfriend's car (it was parked out front). This is the third time we've had someone plow into a car parked out front. Thankfully the police happened to be in the neighborhood (probably because of the parties) and caught the guy weaving down the street.

Boyfriend's car not too bad, just scraped up. But we all woke up to a crash sound, so it must have been the next car parked down the street.

NO RAIN. I wish so much it would rain. I can't water the garden, I'm too exhausted. They'll have to keep til tomorrow or the next day. I threw a frozen water bottle out to the chooks, that's all I can do for now. I'm sweating into my eyeballs now, so gotta go.

Coyote, how are you doing today? Thinking of you.

No AC - that is really bad. I am sorry. While not much for AC myself, I have had it on during these Amazon-like days - concerned about my ailing kitty and truth be known, I am feeling the humidity like I never did before. For those not here in NJ, it's been so insanely hot and HUMID an alarming amount of the time - there were even 90+ degree days in NJ in April, about 30 degrees above normal. Let me clarify what I mean by humid in NJ right now: air = water here!!!!

] .......And I know it's been way worse in places like Florida. Scary what we're doing to ourselves and all the beings we subject to our foolishness. Sat in front of the computer for 12 hours today so far trying to face wretched interrogatories when the only sane place to be was in water somewhere! The news said that this June is the hottest on record in these parts.

I'm also so sorry about all that wretched noise and about the idiot who smashed the car. I wish I come come tend to your feather kids for you. I am constantly giving mine something cool and there's no one else to do it. I worry about tomorrow when I'm at work because it's supposed to be worse than today. Hang on though - finally on Tuesday things begin to summer down - it will be a mere 88! And even cooler after that. Hope it lasts awhile.

Hope your AC is back in gear before long, in case the summer is destined to be like June
