So....talk about.....CANCER SUPPORT THREAD !!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONA!!!! Check in time!! Same goes for the rest of the Chemo Crew! Where is everybody???!!!

Update--Kandu is headed back to Missouri. Things just didn't work out right.

Katie is starting to calm down. Making me crazy about going for a playdate with her Foxhound buddy up the street!

Oh, I am so sorry about Kando. That is a disappointment.
So, Katie has the hots for a foxhound? cute. fox trot.

And your chemo is sitting alright? I was concerned about the dog bites and you being on chemo.
Healing is slow and all.

I have been thinking: when we want animals, it does not really mean we are ready for animals,... you know?
I have to have faith that what we need finds us when we need it, and when they need us.

I am so far behind in everything, I can not make myself do anything. If I had a puppy right now they have to put me in a long sleeved jacket tied from behind...

I keep checking in with the thread to make sure everyone is doing okay. You all are always in my thoughts. I stopped getting notifications a couple weeks ago, and it turned out that all my BYC mail was going to Spam. When I figured it out, I had so much catching up to do!

Sorry to hear about Kandu, CM. But, glad to see that you still have your fighting spirit in light of the latest chemo.

And, Luna, I'm betting that hair is long enough for another pic!!

Have you abandoned the mops yet?

Nah, Cherry is a 8yr female who was dumped on the side of the road a few years back after a litter of puppies. Looks like she was probably a breeder and they were done using her. She didn't know how to play, would just walk around the yard and sniff until she and Katie got together. Now you can't keep them apart. She has taught Katie doggie manners that she should have learn from her own momma but I don't think she was kept with her momma long enough to learn. They just run and wrestle. Cherry bays and Katie barks. I have a big tractor tire that the 2 of them jump into and dig. 2 doggie butts & tails in the air! They take a break and it's 2 heads in the same bucket of water. Cherry's Mom says that she has been getting into all kinds of things you would expect from a puppy since she started playing with Katie, lol. But she is happy seeing her loving life again.

What is it with the hair??!! Mine started falling out so I shaved it. Then it stopped. After my 2nd treatment it's started falling out again. Dang hair when I put my head on a pillow even until it was gone. Now, I have fuzz growing in certain spots.

What the hey is up with that??!!. Getting a little chilly around here for skull caps anymore had to pull out my fleece hats. Couldn't deal with the pompons on top this time though, they had to go.

What's everybody doing for Thanksgiving? My folks are coming down. I had no choice my Pop told me they WERE coming, lol. I know they just want to make sure I'm ok. I just don't want them to see me on a bad day. They have took care of my brother and grandmother when they were sick. Thankfully I've only had to deal with nerve pain which I can drug myself up with good and kill most of that. The other stuff

I haven't had to deal with this time.

So cool!! I tried to rescue a beautiful mini pinscher a few weeks back, but they wouldn't let me have him because I don't have six-foot fences. I guess it just wasn't my time. He had gone through a serious trauma of being dragged behind a pickup truck when he jumped out. He was amazingly healed physically, but I wondered about emotionally. He looked so sad. I saw no aggression in him, but he was very aloof with all but his foster mom. We can't save 'em all, I guess. My right dog will come along someday. At least you tried to give Kandu what he needed.

Hi deerman! How are you?

Coyote - so sorry to hear that Kandu kandidn't.

But if Katie is enjoying life and you're not getting bit, that was meant to be. He'll work out somewhere else. You can take your time and see when it's right to get a buddy for Katie. And I agree with 3goodeggs on the animal thing. Glad you're doing well with the treatments.

Orp! Funny thing you mention not wearing the mop.
big_smile.png
Today for the first time I went out in public without the mop! I've been doing my yard & house and going to the mailbox w/o and was just getting used to it.

But today was official! It's long enough that it looks like I have this style on purpose....teehee. Ah FREEDOM. I'll be taking a pic soon - I think I need a little styling junk or something....you guys can tell me what colour it looks like.....I see mousy brown with grey......

who cares? it's HAIR!!

Chicknmania - Attitude is BIG.

I saw my oncologist on Wed and she was amazed at how I "sailed" (her words) through chemo. She said it was attitude. Radiation was more of a bug in my butt, but that's over now. On with life.

Except I do still have chemo brain......it's like a momentary loss of reason for a second or two then it passes. The "duh" is wearing off I noticed. Which is always a good thing.

I'm just getting over a nasty cold that DH brought home from the rehab for physical therapy. Talk about duh from a cold and leftover chemo brain. I was working overtime
