I just received 10 ducklings from Murray McMurray Hatchery just 2 days ago (my first ducklings ever!): 3 Khakis, 3 Cayugas, 2 Buffs, and 2 Blue Runners. Of the 10 ducklings, the Cayugas seem the most wild, wild as in not liking to be touched or even near my hand. If I pick them up they actually nibble me, if they were bigger it might hurt. The runners are the nicest, not even afraid of my hand... The 2 buffs have very different personalities, one of them is timid but stares up at me sort of sweetly while the other seems to be establishing herself as the little leader of the flock already (she also nibbles me). The 3 khakis are a little timid but I think I can win them over with some work.
Luckily, I only plan on keeping 6, and I already know that 2 of the Cayugas will be going (I want to keep one for some diversity). It's a shame too because I really wanted to like them... or rather them to like me. Oh well...
