So this happened today....

The white with black spots is caused by a single copy of the dominant white gene, the same white found in white leghorns, but also called paint in its single factor form. She's striking with the dark skin contrasting with the white plumage with black spotting.

Still, they are really kind of cute! Silkies make the most adorable mixes ever... I like the one with the black spots, looks like mixed with appenzeller spitzhauben... I had a Silkie/Americauna mix that had regular feathers, a top-knot, feathered feet and Americauna buff coloring... A beautiful sweet bird and layed a green egg.
Oh, I already love em but I have to do some rearranging ASAP. I have an odd flock and too many roosters cause I’ve had zero luck with trusting tractor supply and their sexing and strangers at the flea market lmao! You can see my intro thread for the whole story and I have a thread in what breed/sex is this that tells the rest of the story. I haven’t had a lot of luck starting my flock right

Yes, and look at that face! She is beautiful!

Silkie and silkie crosses are difficult to sex. I agree you got 2 boys and 1 girl, this time, and I am glad they found such a nice home. What's disheartening is that there are so many people out there that intentionally dupe people and lie just for a few bucks. These people won't stop but calling them out and maybe publicizing their fraudulent behavior is at least a start.

I can relate, straight run isn't what it used to be... I have a pen full of light brahma and speckled sussex roosters 4 of each and 1 hen of each... And buff brahmas 3 roosters 1 hen from the tractor supply when I only wanted one of the chicks but had to buy 4, even though I had plenty of brooder chicks at home...
