SO TORN Which breed next?!

I ended up getting the ameraucana, which is MOST DEFINATLY a EE like I predicted. His set up was amazing and clean, all the birds were healthy, shiny and happy. The guy even told me how a D'uccle got in with them and that's how he ended up getting bantam ones. So he's in the process of making them smaller and smaller and selling the ones without beards/muffs.

She is black, shines blue and green, has a pea comb, has LONG clean legs, a BIG voice, no beard and a very upright tail which I think is the d'uccle coming out in her. I will say she's more like a 3/4 size chicken rather than a bantam bantam. But they were full grown and I took the smallest of the lot because they were all the same age and ran up to us when we saw them. He said I have a 75% chance of her laying a green egg (also asked if that was ok, aww he cared about them), because he has seen one or two tan eggs in that coop with 8 hens. He also showed me some of the eggs they were gorgeous light greeny blue There was also a bearded ee rooster in there with them... maybe I should leave all the eggs she lays for a few days in the nest of the older girls to see if they'll go broody and hatch some more chicks for me! hehe

Oh and my partner was no help, he wanted me to get a light brama bantam too! Because they were "cool looking"
He also dubbed this new girl "Esmeralda" apparently because it has "emerald" in it and she'll lay green eggs lol

I'll post pics of her soon, once she's calmed down. Right now she's terrified because I don't think she's ever seen a dog before and Huey just wants to say hi (just looking and wagging). She "exploded" and cut her head on the roof of the cage shes in, silly bugger. She also keeps pacing trying to get to the other hens. She seems very aware of her surroundings so I think she'll be a great free ranging hen

I know she'll be a good tame bird because his 8ish yr old daughter caught (I should say just picked up!) her and carried her to the car for us, she was placid and didn't struggle. She's just freaked out now.

Hope she will lay green eggs!

get all! of go with a silkie! they are so tame and calm. just last night i sat with my silkie for about 30 mins and she just sat and fell asleep

aww she laid a pink egg. Little dissappointed. I might hatch them though because she was kept with a roo! And my PR is broody! Egg colour comes from the father right?

PEKINS! Here, they're called Cochins, but they are the sweetest, most docile birds. They are so soft and sweet.

But be warned...they like to surf the net!

Well the pekins are just miniature cochins...cochins are cute, they are good brooders...but silkies are adorable, so fuzzy, the EEs provide colorful eggs. Hard choice, I say answer these 3 questions:

Do you want a colorful egg basket? EE
Do you want to hatch out chicks? Pekin or Silkie
Are you ready to brush you chicken, like you would a cat? Silkie

I say, if it floods: EE, they don't have feathered feet.
