I did the waistband for the skirt, out of the black material so I could iron the ribbon onto something solid. Sorry for the dark photos... first photo is the waistband pinned in place, 2nd photo after stitching it down with a nice tight zig zag across the bottom. I plan to use the same stitch across the top of it to bind it to the bodice.
No photos of the grommets/eyelets yet.. which worked out to be a little crooked due to lack of pinning experience, but I think it'll be ok. DD & DH barely noticed.. of course it's GLARINGLY crooked to me

Today I have to pin the back of the skirt and get my line there to the floor, then pin the skirt to the top and then attach them. Then following the zipper links Fudgie provided, I'll be putting a zipper on the skirt ending in the top. Of course the only zipper foot I have is for my old Kenmore machine.. I don't know if it will fit the new Singer so that could be a hurdle to overcome.
