So what do you do after symptoms of blackhead go away...?

my turkeys have blackhead...I'm treating with metronidazle. After 2 doses they look considerably better, we'll see what happens next. I know its not about chickens but this forum is the only one that answers my questions!

Will they continuously get this till slaughter? I can't sterilize the run and coop anymore than I am. I use a driveway torch and have no idea if it does anything but makes me feel better.

I look forward to any opinions or knowledge.

Continue treating with metronidazole for a total of 5 days. Blackhead is a protozoa that is carried in the cecal worm. The cecal worm is usually carried in chicken feces. Sometimes it's carried in earthworms as well. Chickens and turkeys should be kept seperated.
Once you've completed metronidazole treatment, you must get rid of the carrier...the cecal worms. Dose your turkeys orally with 1cc safeguard liquid goat wormer every third day within a 10 day period. If your turkeys are over 10 pounds, dose them 1.5cc's.

Right, I read your other responses. I'm clearly lacking in the separation situation. I'm going to have to enclose them completely in.

Thanks dawg!
