Both daughters have choir/band festival going from 7:30 this morning to 4:00 this afternoon. Home right now for a break and checking on my chicks and chickens. Tacos for me tonight. Just gotta fry up my shells and get out the mixins for a big glass of margarita's!! Then I'll be happy

DH is taking me out to dinner tonight. No reason other than we haven't ate out in a long time. Nice surprise!

I am at radiofest.org Ham radios and stuff here, stuff to make antenna, all kinds of stuff. Hmmmm, hamburger and french fries too! And computers so I could sneak onto BYC!

Got up at 6:45am to collect the sap from my maple taps. Started boiling my first 2 gallons shortly thereafter. Then decided it was spring cleaning time and cleaned out the deep litter (DLM) from the coop, added four fresh bales of pine shavings and started my compost pile. All this in 36F rainy weather.

Now I'm enjoying a nice mug of hot chocolate to get rid of the nasty taste of the chewable amoxicillin I just had to gag down. Once I've rested enough, I need to get up and do some laundry, make dinner, and work on tweaking my home made incubator to prep for some eggs I plan on getting at the end of the month.

I went out with 15 moms & NO CHILDREN and we had lunch at the Olive Garden...my tummy is stuffed.

My end of the table....really rowdy...I liked it. I only knew 2 ladies and our table was a shorter smaller table pushed onto the end of the longer table and our chairs sat further down and one mom made the comment she felt like we were sitting at the small kid table at Thanksgiving...so we had to live up to the reputation.

Someone even came to take pics and of course I was standing up behind a row of mom's and gave them bunny ears.


Then those mom's looked back and were like, can we get another pic of the group WITHOUT bunny ears?

drats.

 

[The Chicken Lady]

I went to the Home and Garden Show, then later we're going out to eat with DH's parents, then going to watch the school play at the school where I teach.

Worked a little in the barn taking the 3/4 week olds out of brooder and into the chick pen. Fed and watered all the birds, cleaned my shed. Now I have to sit the rest of the day to rest by knees. Going to get them replaced in April and I am ready for them now.

I observe a Saturday Sabbath, so my day is pretty peaceful. I slept as late as the dogs would allow, fed & watered critters, threw in a load of necessary laundry,and spent the next few hours praying and soaking in the 70 degree weather from my back yard. This evening I'll make pasta and watch a movie with my son.
