Good for you on the self-sufficiency! I forgot to add that we bought some alfalfa seeds. I'd like to plant some for the chickens. Though mom originally wanted them for salads

LOL have fun with the alfalfa...we have a whole field of it that was crop planted by the previous owner, we've been trying to kill it for ages now...

its starting to take over my vegetable garden too

Really?! I didn't know it would come back. Hmm.. guess that means we'll have plenty of it!

it comes back for 3 years i believe and then dies off or something like that, it also doesn't seed itself, the seeds just roll away and it spreads. looks great though, and smells realy nice when you mow it LOL

I think my cats use the spider plants as a supplement to their diets. Both cats and plants do just fine. Spider plants breed worse than rabbits.

my cat eats all plants, no matter what, ..

he ate my lilac clippings i had in my room for the scent, he eats everything..lmao

Sounds interesting! I'll have to keep that in mind! Thanks for the info!

I feel like such a lazoid!

The only things I have in are garlic, peas and brussels sprouts.

I'd normally have much more in after Mother's Day, but the weather wasn't cooperating. AND ... my husband decided that Spring was the time to reconfigure the garden fencing. He has this thing about everything being lined up with the front porch of the house. DON'T ask! (he wouldn't know straight if it bit him in the hiney) So, in order for the new fencing to be done (which gives me a larger garden, I will admit) the boxes had to be dug out, and moved. Hopefully, this weekend I will get more planted. But, I don't have great hopes for my garden this year

Equus, don't feel lazy! I only have *a* tomato plant, crook-necked squash, *a* red pepper plant and *a* mirliton vine. I didn't have much space this year and plan to expand next year, but anyone who plants anything, imo, comes out ahead.

we've got in:

Broccoli
cauliflower
pole beans
bush beans
corn
spaghetti squash
tomatoes
carrots
radishes
beets
mixed lettuce
snow peas
potatoes
cilantro
basil

also have some catnip

and strawberries are always there.

Potatoes
bell peppers (3 variates)
hot peppers (4 variates)
mixed lettuce
egg plant
tomatoes (6 variates)
zucchini
yellow zucchini
watermelon
assorted herbs
grapes
and 3 blueberry bushes

I just planted Cayenne Peppers, Cilantro, and Basil. I don't have a garden yet, but we're moving in a month and I'll have an entire ACRE that's irrigated!! I'm only going to plant a few things to start with, until I don't kill things, but then I plan on having a nice garden!
