so whats everyone growing?

I currently have

Tomatoes
Cucumbers
red leaf lettuce
watermelon
zuccini
strawberry
cantaloupe
Jalapenos
sunflower
green onion
yellow onion

And it's not nearly enough! But, I planted in my flower beds this year since we don't have a garden plot made up at this house yet. When we move my coop around to the back of the house the "stuff" there will make a perfect spot of a raised bed for next year. I'm looking forward to that.

Weeds. 2.5 acres of wild mustard and the tractor is broken.

wow, lots of stuff everyones growing I actually went to the gardening place and I saw some black cherry cherry trees.....i bought 5!Sooooo now I have to plant all those and I also forgot to add that im growing lots of chives too

I'm planting the same things as all of you. Don't ever plant Shamrock because you can't contain it or get rid of it. Under a tree away from the garden might work. I had the same problem with monkey grass. I'm trying French cantaloupe this year from Baker Creek Seeds. I read in a garden magazine that it is so good. I can hardly wait for tomatoes to come in! KellyHM, how nice to have irrigation. I hate to water!

Beans, Corn, peppers, squash and TOMATOES!!!

LOTS of Tomatoes.... I'm very regular now... I know, I know, TMI!

We have climbing roma beans (Pinetree sent the wrong ones, but we managed) Top Crop Green Beans, over 50 tomatoes, two kinds for canning and the rest are for eating. Planted the ones that are super duper high in antioxidants, so anxious to see how they taste, deep black tomato, lemon boy, asparagus, red raspberries, rhubarb (don't see it yet, so don't think its going to make it, have trouble getting it started), potatoes, strawberries, and sweet corn (4 different kinds) and pumpkins, neck pumpkins, watermelon and canteloupe! We shall be busy!!!

Quote:
How do you grow your potatoes? I haven't tried it yet, and I'd like to. I'd also like to try corn this year, since my garden will be larger.

But, like I said ... I don't have great hopes for it this year, since I haven't gotten anything planted due to the reconfiguration of the fence and garden.

We have:

Tomatoes (2 are volunteers from compost bin turned potato patch)
Bell Peppers
Green onions
Lettuce
Cucumbers
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
Squash
Bush Green Beans
Bush Lima Beans
Peas
Birdhouse Gourd
Pumpkin (volunteer from compost bin)
Potatoes
Corn (in the potato patch - only place the squirrels will leave it alone!)

My tomatoes are in pots, except for one - that is now HUGE and full of buds/blooms - in an earth box filled with compost. The bell peppers are also in pots/earth box, though I'm about to lose a big one from the voles getting to it in the garden and only leaving one root (reason they're all in pots and/or earth box now). The potatoes are growing in our old compost pile (we moved the compost and the dirt underneath was wonderful, plus we added straw after planting and they're coming up great!). The rest of the veggies are in three 4' x 6' wooden boxes that we filled 2/3 with compost and topped off with topsoil, then surrounded AND covered with chicken wire to keep the darn squirrels out!

Edit: Almost forgot about the 3 strawberry plants that I transplanted from a flower bed to a pot to save them from the squirrels, and I also have basil, oregano and thyme. As soon as my Michigan Bulb order comes, I'll also have a blueberry bush, miniature orange tree, miniature lemon tree, six more tomato plants and Everbearing strawberries
