Just wondering if you all think this winter will be a bad one or a warmer than normal one and why. I don't know, but usually, the acorns begin falling here in August. Lots of tops are falling that did not produce acorns, just the closed up tops of them all over the place. Not sure what, if anything, that means. How about you?

Our trees are getting stressed by lack of water and it is possible they are not getting enough moisture or getting ready for an early winter.

I would say as cool it was thru this summer, I say warmer weather.

What does the Farmer's Alamack (sp) say?

Hmmm. It may be cold but warm at times. We could see a lot of snow or maybe some rain. Depending on your latitude and elevation your temps may vary by a few or several more degrees.

I want to believe that it will be cooler, even cold and soon. Winter could begin tomorrow and that would be ok. After a really hot June-July, we have had a lot of rain lately. So the days are hot and humid. Ruth being the trooper that she is wants to plant another crop before it gets cold; I am more inclined to go for the freezer section at the store.

I dunno. I'm hoping for warmer. Last winter wasn't all that bad here.

you're such a smarty pants pc.

I say frigid... we had a pretty gnarly one last year so there has to be another one... 2 in a row... it's a pattern.

Then next winter will be mild.

yup... that's what I'm predicting.

Plus I just got my new boiler installed so I want it to be tested pretty good.

We haven't had a real blizzard since the 1970's (nope, I was not living in the state of IL when it happened

) Hubby said it was a great white playground and kids stayed home for a few days and drifts were as high as the houses.

Don't want any ice storms tho!

They were as big as the houses.

I remember getting a lot more snow as a kid. I'm living in my childhood home and I remember sledding down our cape cod roof into a big snow drift.

craziness...
