Soap Makers Help!

Your right, it sure is frustrating. I'm sticking with it though and besides having you guys here for me everyone of my family and friends keep encouraging me.

well last night the soap I made came out of the mold. I know I should wait 24 hours but it was hard. I sliced it. into kid sized bars.... and I have to admit I dont think I will EVER make soap again with crisco. I really like the feel of the lard soap. it looks so creamy and suple. I cant wait to make some and mold it. matter of fact I am going right now to look at molds! I love you guys and thanks SOOOOOO much for helping me get started!

That is what keeps me going...compliments from customers. It does keep me soaping! It makes me happy to see someone hold my bar and then email/call/tell someone else how lovely my soaps are.

It sure is fun watching all you folks soap...what lovely creations you have come up with and I've even 'stolen' some ideas from you all! Being amongst creative inspired people keeps me going...the enthusiasm you each have with each batch is so fun to watch. I remember feeling that way the first time I ever unmolded a loaf...and to be honest...I STILL get that way as I'm slicing.

I tried to comvince DH that I NEED to have something for soaping lol. I asked him if he could get it for my birthday. At this point I hadn't told him what I wanted. Well right of the bat he said if it had anything to do with goats, chickens, or soap I'm not getting it. Then in one last desprate move I said it wasn't for me but it was for my business. I got another big no. Looks like I'll have to come up with a diffrent plan to get the BIG mold I want lol

$4.50 cents plus tax is better at ACE--same exact thing.

You asked how it feels in your hand. With use, the ridges wear off, but they feel fine. They are mostly for a beautiful presentation...give a soap more class.

I made lavender and rosemary (50/50) salt bars yesterday. I adore these EO together. So fresh and clean. The whole house smells so good. They are a little crumbly on the ends, I waited too long to cut them, but nothing horrible. I added sea kelp, but only 3-4 tsp, not nearly enough for the color I wanted, so I added some chlorophyll to boost the green. I can't wait to try these out and I'll post a picture as soon as I get some more batteries.

Anyone else soap this weekend?

I have to agree.

I make a lavender and rosemary soap as well, but I don't even add the rosemary EO. Instead, I infuse the OO with the rosemary and then add a lavender EO. Everyone loves the scent, guys especially. The rosemary takes the sweet edge off of the lavender and makes a wonderful clean smelling scent. My hubby has requested this scent for the shaving soap I'm going to make him.

It's just a really nice combo. Do you do any other combinations with lavender or rosemary? I'd love to try some other blends.

Can't wait to see the pix!

I have a Lavender, Rosemary and Cinnamon EO blend I mixed yesterday that I plan on soaping later today. The cinnamon adds a nice warmth to the blend. Those are the only EO I have on hand. I really want to get some lemongrass the next time I order.

That sounds nice! I haven't yet purchased a cinnamon EO. Does the lemongrass smell like lemons or is it more grassy?

Someone mentioned some time ago that some scent sellers will send out sniffer samples. (geez, say that fast 10 times!

) I've not seen that at any of the places where I've shopped so far. But, that'd be a nice thing to have. Too bad we don't have sniff-o-vision available online.

Ohh, but that would be bad. I'd probably buy waaaay too many things!
