You know it;s bound to happen. Someone eats too much broccoli and they are taxed. Or carrots.

I smoke, I drink, I use my freedom of speech on a regular basis. And I have noticed that the price of jalepenos is on the rise.

Somewhere a bean counter decide this would be a good way to bring in extra revenue.
I am surprise the big soft drink companies didn't put up a stink about it.
We are used to it in Canada. If the Government can tax something popular or pleasurable they will.
Carbon emission tax, Goods and Services tax, eco fees, cigarette tax (huge) fuel tax (huge), the hidden taxes (not quite sure what they are), taxes to pay for the 2010 Winter Olympics, etc.

Actually the bean counter, somewhere in some year like 1780 or something, came up with our local zoning on chickens: 99 hens and 1 roo. I kid you not.

I dont often drink soda, and when I do its normal everyday sugar ladden Coke or Dr Pepper.
the problem with Diet soda is I am aergic tro the sweetners, litterally closes my throat down and no air passes.
I have to be so careful with everything because of the "diet " crap in it.
Grand Brat being a diabetic makes eating anything here dangerous for me.

I personally DO NOT understand the reasoning behind the sin taxes-I for one do not want Congress defining sin-that is just too much irony for me.

I get my definition of sin from a WAAAAAY more reliable source and it sure ain't Washington D.C..

I think they should tax stupidity.

I'll just hand over my paycheck now.
