Good enough to climb a vertical wall and hold on while it breaks through chicken wire covering a 3.5” gap?
Good question.
But I have a place on the Little Monitor coop where either a raccoon or a dog *almost* tore through the hardware cloth.

Yes totally good enough for that and they break through chicken wire in no time - like it isn't even an issue for them.Good enough to climb a vertical wall and hold on while it breaks through chicken wire covering a 3.5” gap?
The wall is nearly 6 feet high. And there’s not much for a raccoon to climb on. Plus i did one vent last night and i literally shoved it in the vent, i doubt that chicken wire is coming outThe problem with chicken wire even up high is the raccoons are great climbers.
Minks. Think minks. Read my second post. There are other predators to protect against bedsides racoons. The wall is nearly 6 feet high. And there’s not much for a raccoon to climb on. I have honestly never seen a mink here in NJ. The only thing i would be worried about is a opposum or squirrel… but the opening is like 2 inches and that chicken wire it shoved in it, i can’t even get it out if i pull hard enoughMinks. Just because you've never seen one doesn't mean they aren't there. They are most active at night, small and very smart at evading notice. You may find out the hard way. It may take a while. That is your choice. Good luck.I have honestly never seen a mink here in NJ. If they are around my area i’m sure they would’ve tried to already get in the coop we have now, considering there is a small gap between the run and the coop, maybe 1-2”Just because you've never seen one doesn't mean they aren't there.
