That is a VERY GOOD idea. They will even stay lit as the battery draws down and
will save power by eliminating the need for an invertor.

CountryBoy, Methane really is a good fuel and it's better for the environment
if we burn it, not just let it escape. I work on a few generators and turbines
that run off methane collected from landfills and waste water plants. It's a dirty
gas(not joking) but it works.

Either that or pure arrogance. In his case probably both.

My barn is only 12x24 but I also use it as a workshop and getaway. I do like keeping my
chickens comfy too. We have lights so we can see.

Actually NMCF stands for No More Chicken F*rts.

According to the UN worldwide methane production of cattle is second only to natural sources of methane
such as undersea blooms or rainforests. Methane and water vapor, not carbon dioxide, are the strongest
greenhouse gases.

For those who don't know me sometimes I like to exagerate or poke fun at things
in order to get a good discussion going. In the case of this thread I never imagined
there would be so many responses and so many great ideas.

Everything I wrote about my coop is technically valid and can be done. Even the barrel
of poop is scientifically accurate.

Thanks to everyone who responded. You are all awesome!!!

I wasn't joking. I was making use of creative sarcasm to get people thinking about
a very important subject, keeping your chickens comfortable.

I find the best way to keep them comfortable is to set up roosts and nest boxes in front ot the TV. Chicken Run in the dvd player. The AC on, lots of watermelon out of season and my hubby and I fanning them.

They appreciate it.
