Solar powered Coop

Hey! I want solar power for my coop. The coop's not close enough to the house and I don't want power cords running all through my back yard.

Biggest need for power to coop is for heated water and maybe a light. Winters in upstate NY are long and hard.

I DO NOT want to knock out frozen blocks of water every day...nope...

Advice on size/wattage of panel? Any general advice on using solar. I've never done it, but am generally handy. I'm not at all intimidated by the idea, just want to do it right.
