She’s a frazzle that was supposed to be a frizzle, aptly named Thing 1, or The Frizz. She drops nearly ALL her feathers in the summer but hasn’t had any problems with sunburns. I was sure I’d have to cull her before her first winter (harsh Midwest weather and indoors isn’t an option for her) but the past two years she regrows her feathers and has this lush curly coat all winter. I even tried making her sweaters her first fall hoping I would be able to keep her alive. It did NOT go wellAlso what’s going on with that poor naked hen in the pics? Is she supposed to look like that or is she going through a bad molt? Poor girl.
Perhaps a Langshan? They are leggy like your girl is.

Might it be a Midnight Majesty Maran?
Man I would be thrilled to have dark chocolate eggs. I lost an Easter egger a while back and have been missing the pop of color in my eggs.I think she may be a Marans. You’ll know once she lays an egg. If it’s dark chocolate she’s a Marans
You’ll have to update us soon when she lays!! So cute about the frizzle’s sweater!!ooh what a lovely looking breed! I hadn’t heard of them. I do love her lean
I could see that but they seem to have yellow legs? I don’t like trying to figure out TSC or bin chicks because there’s so many hatchery quality traits that make it harder and I already have a hard time!

Oh that’d be no fair because The Frizz would win hands down! This is her annual transitionThere's usually a BYC competition in Autumn for the worst molt photo so you should enter "The Frizz".
