Thoughts on breed? As title, purchased as sexed cuckoo maran. Thought she’d be coloring by now.

2.5 weeks, 9 weeks, and 13 weeks.

She's not a Cuckoo Marans for sure, and very possibly not a Marans of any variety.
It’s very interesting you say that. I got a mixed group for several people. Bought 4 “pullet cuckoo maran”. Looking at all our birds now, I see one pullet, one cockerel, and mine plus one more that looks like it. Makes waaayyyy more sense now.

She still has a great temperament. Just wonder what she is.

DYAC - Marans

I'm new to chickens, and perhaps someone more experienced will say I'm way off, but it looks like a black jersey giant maybe? Are the underside of her feet yellow?

My cuckoo marans started showing her feather patterning as soon as the wing feathers came in at 5 days old, so I'm pretty sure yours is something else entirely. Love her green-black feathers though! :)

(edit: adjusted age for photo below)

Here's my cuckoo at 1 week*, and then at 4 weeks:

Definitely not a Maran of any kind. Like other people have said, probably either a Black Australorp or Black Jersey Giant. Either way, she’s a pullet.

Where did you get her from? I'd guess some kind of mix is likely if she isn't directly from a feed store or hatchery.
