Solitary confinement or keeping a molting duck out of the rain/wind?

I've done it with a few and found the usually settle down. Do you have a buddy you can put with her, that will help a lot.
If they usually settle down, I'm fine with that. She does have food and water in there. We are SUPPOSED to get some sun and warmer weather soon, so I just need to get her through this hump.

I do have a buddy I can put in there but what I've found is that when I do, everyone gets upset. The 2 on the outside get really agitated and the 2 on the inside get agitated.

Mine always settle down after a few hours. Better to keep her warm and dry, imo.

You are in the SF Bay Area too, right? It's been nothing but wind and rain and cold. I prayed for rain during the drought. Now I'm praying for no rain!
Yeah, about 90 minutes south of you and this year has been hard on the ones with scruffy feather coats, so I can relate. :hugs is this the same one that was laying soft shelled eggs?

No, she stopped laying, which I was so happy about. I think she really needed a break. Her feathers were horrendous -- all torn and raggedy.

The soft shelled egg duck is Sage, my youngster who I got in 8/2018 and who seems really healthy, active and happy.

This year has been hard, but the weather is supposed to warm up. One can hope!

Oh, good. Hopefully she be back to normal soon. :fl

Glad to hear she is okay now.

You guys are getting more rain than we are, so I really feel for you. :hugs
