I've got two days to get my house cleaned up & freshened. I want a bunch of negative energy OUTTA HERE before the solstice gets here. Even more so, before an eclipse & a solstice all at once!

Just finished up a bunch of "work stuff" and now I can concentrate on "me stuff" for a few days. Housework is first...

LOL COyote Magic....how true it is though !!!

IHAVEWHAT - That is just a beautiful tradition. I would LOVE to hear The Mother Winter story...I don't think I've ever had the pleasure.

Pagan here and eagerly awaiting the eclipse. I'll be up all night Solstice night too, keeping the Yule log going and preparing for my morning Ritual.

I'd love to do that, it's a lovely idea and tradition. I just think my fiance would refuse (he says all he wants for midwinter is a lie in!)

We all like to see those things. However these passages are about the coming of an Apacalypse used to put fear in the people if they didn't turn from the "wicked ways", the same ways that us pagans use today.

Why can't we ever get happy verses thrown at us??!! lol BURN BABY BURN!!!

Thought that was a happy verse..

I found this over at www.spaceweather.com

The lunar eclipse of Dec. 21st falls on the same date as the northern winter solstice. Is this rare? It is indeed, according to Geoff Chester of the US Naval Observatory, who inspected a list of eclipses going back 2000 years. "Since Year 1, I can only find one previous instance of an eclipse matching the same calendar date as the solstice, and that is Dec. 21, 1638," says Chester. "Fortunately we won't have to wait 372 years for the next one...that will be on Dec. 21, 2094."
