Solved the Escape Artist Problem

Three+ week-old chicks quickly solved the riddle of escaping my 100 gallon brooder. VOILA! Wire mesh and funnels taped to the water/feeder. These gals are a riot!

I’ve been going by the “fully feathered by 6 weeks, off to the coop rule.” I think they’ll be fine for the next few weeks, to be honest.

Definitely looks tight on space to me but I'm a bad judge of that since 3 week old chicks would full run access in my set up.

Best way to check - do some math. You want around 1 sq ft per chick in open floor space at this point.
