My beloved one-eyed Pekin Quackers who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge with the help of the nasty raccoon I sent away.
She stole my heart and started this whole duck thing.
Well after my disaster with raccoon part 2 I was left w/ 1 rather wild Rouen. I had a giant hole left in my heart in Quacker’s place. So I got two Cayuga’s & a Golden Layer.
After 3 or 4 weeks I could tell the Rouen (Maggie) was quite lonely and after a walk to the creek with the ducklings I noticed she was excited to see the ducklings. I introduced them and she seemed over the moon and excited again when in the pool. The little ones immediately took to her and followed her well, like a duck lol
I’m still on the fence with names for the Cayuga’s. I like Goldie for the G. Layer, nothing seems to work for the Cayuga’s just yet.
Well then these little booger’s came home.
A Saxony, Blue Swedish (drake), & Welsh Harquins
Sadly I lost one little gal to a broken leg. She was so damn quick and got away from me during a brooder change & fell down several steps.
They grow daily and sometimes I wish they would never get bigger but that’s part of the joy, seeing them become grownup and move into their own I suppose.
