Some people make me sooo Frigging mad *Rant*

The feed store owners biggest mistake was in talking to
another customer about YOU.

No excuse.

They do not need your business. Matter of fact, if that's the
way they do business....they don't need anybody's business.

she is no longer considered a friend, absolutely not, friends do not do that to one another. the letter is a good idea and in a few days when I am not this heated up I will likely write it, if I did that now I doubt it would be very professional. :-/

you know what I failed to mention, chicken feed is not the only thing I buy from them, apart from shavings as well, my kids take riding lessons there, I buy my dogs their organic dog food there too (54 bucks for an 18kg bag) and I buy alfalfa pellets, and cubes from them.

I keep 2 bags of feed stocked that is it!! to really look at how much I spend there

4 bags of dog food per month $216
4 bags of layer feed $72
1 bag of boss $30
1 bag of scratch $16
2 bales of alfalfa $12
1 bag of cubes $27
10 bags of shavings (not just for chickens) $50

total amount I spend a month there: $423 (if I did my math right)

ohh add riding lessons 40 bucks each an hour 1X per week $320

Dear ,

I have decided upon further thought to take my business elsewhere. While I have used your services for many years and have even recommended you to many people, I have decided that your breach of trust is not something I care to risk again. By discussing me with a customer you violated the business/customer rule, you made the choice to stop selling me feed based on a rumor from a person I recommended to you. It is not your business to know what I do with my feed once I have paid you and left your premises. I do not stock pile feed, if I do care to keep a few extra bags in case of bad weather or emergencies, that is my business, not yours or the person you were discussing me with. I will no longer be recommending you to my friends, now or in the future. Thank you for many years of good service prior to this incident, I wish you good luck but make the suggestion you no longer discuss customers with each other or breach the trust that builds between customers and service providers over many years.

Were it me, I would do like your husband says, that is just shoddy business. The part about them not asking you should have never been an issue. Businesses are there to make money by providing a product or a service. It doesn't matter how much feed you stockpile or don't stockpile. The more feed they sell, the more money they make from it. If you went in the day after purchasing x amount of feed and said you were out and needed to purchase x amount of feed, they should sell it to you with a smile. No questions should be asked and you shouldn't be denied. How big is the community you live in, and round about how many people do you figure you sent their way? Bad reviews by word of mouth are way more implacable then people think.
An example: I am not happy with restaurant because two straight times I found a hair in my food. I tell john, who says nothing until three days later to a group of people he is eating lunch with, brings up x restaurant. He then says something like guess what I heard. Next thing you know that whole group is aware. They do something similar and it is like a disease. Catch my drift? Give them bad feedback from you by word of mouth. You may not know if it hurts hem even a little, but it will, of that you can be sure.

can you hear me now? :

population in this town is 8,000 mostly mill workers, farmers, mine workers, and truck drivers. And you know what I should have clued in way sooner than this for sure. I like to see the good in people and trust them. I was never like this when I lived in the city I was there was 22 yrs and had a hard time trusting anyone outside of my circle of friends who I have been friends with since primary school. I lost that after moving here somewhere along the lines. Nothing ever happens here. but trash talking is quite damaging in this town and rumors spread like wildfire.
