I had some issues with my local feed store never having what I needed in stock. I looked around and found one a little further away but they were also 1/3 less in price... definately makes the drive worthwhile... my feed bill went from 14.50 bag to 8.70 a bag... times 12 bags a month adds up quick. I should stop by my local store and thank them I guess.
Since you live so far from another source, I'd say to just quietly take your business elsewhere. You don't want to burn your bridges too badly. What if someone in the family becomes ill or injured, or you have vehicle problems and can't make the long trip? You might end up needing to slip over there and buy some small amount on rare occasions.
It's not the store's business if you decided to keep 100 bags of extra feed, or 1000. Their right to know what is done with the product ends when you load it into your vehicle.
I bought 3 bags of chicken feed last time I went.Guess I am stockpiling too!
I would go elsewhere if the ranch man did not apologise a great deal for causing me such harshship....and well lying to me over gossip!!!!
NO letters and NO comments.Just act like nothing happened.Get what you need elsewhere and only go local if you are in a pinch.
I would stop talking to the *friend* once you have asked her what happened. No loss there. Like I told my kids the other day," If someone comes up to you and starts talking about another you can bet they will be talking about you very soon to others."
