Some people make me sooo Frigging mad *Rant*

"Never burn the bridge behind you. You may have to cross
the river again."

I left that comment and Just Bugged replied that she did not
understand why, that this so-called friend wasn't much of a loss.
Now, that might true enough.

But long after this person has forgotten how she treated you, she
will remember how you treated her. Harsh unkind words, once spoken,
are impossible to take back. Be certain that she will feel justified in telling
other friends of how badly you treated her. True enough, she will probably
forget the part of how she caused the problem in the first place.

The thing is, she won't exactly be lying. And you can't defend yourself against
those words.

You are not responsible for how others treat you. But we are responsible
in how we treat others always.

Just as you had an issue with the feed store : It was in no way your fault, and
you felt that you were wronged. Rightfully so. And you are dealing with it.
Hopefully without anger. The feed store wants, and needs, your business.
A few free bags of food wouldn't do it me, but that's up to you.

We've all left friends somewhere along the way. For whatever reason. And
if they choose to remember us unkindly...Let that be their lie.

...............................................

Almost off subject :

As your family decides whether or not to continue to do business with this
feed store, look carefully. You may not spend so much that you could run them
out of business. But you can hurt them. Enough customers like you, and they
could be out of business. Would that be what you want?

A few free bags of feed, couple of riding lessons? That's nothing. Tell them you
want the whole month free. $700 something? You weren't wrong.

eh, ill say its silly to let people tell you that you acted wrong in letting that dern woman know your anger.

youre fine, youve done everything right. that woman will either feel like crap because she knows you know, or she will not feel any different.
one thing for sure, she will not see you as worse off than her.

as far as the feed store goes?
they arent a real business.

youve done everything perfectly <3

AND BY THE WAY.

people walk all over people because they are allotted to. Once they are told they cannot be bullied anymore, a person is usually free from that person's CRAP. hence they worry about being "badmouthed" the way they have bad mouthed people before.

honey, please just do as you do.
and only care about you!

I can see what is happening. Money is tight and stores are not stocking up. They have limited credit, so they are dependent upon a rapid turn over of a small stock inventory. They are only ordering supplies as they can sell them. Now they have to pick and choose who they are going to sell to and limit the amounts they sell to those clients.

I suspect we will soon see a lot of empty shelves in stores soon. This is what happens when suppliers cut down on credit because they can't get it themselves because everyone is expecting a big inflation of their own costs. You never sell a product for less than its replacement cost plus your associated cost and a profit.

No one is in business to lose money. This is what is happening in Venezuela. Unfortunately, governments do not understand this and they just keep running the printing presses.

Kinda think that maybe he wants people to run low in winter.

That way his prices could reflect the need at the time.

All in all sounds like a locals only type thing. Go out of town.

Stock up and maybe sell it to her when she runs out, plus shipping, handling and weather supply and demand.

Or just for what you have in to it. That way you are right with yourself.

Hmmm,50/50? Gonna be a hard one to figure out.

OP's statement
to get to the point, 3 weeks in a row I was told they didn't have any feed, shavings and the oyster shell I ordered 5 weeks ago still hasn't shown up. funny enough everyone else was getting these items, and so I kept thinking maybe I was coming at the wrong time and it was all gone already.

I do understand the current lack of lending that so many businesses have relied on for many years now. But the OP special order several items, and the store got them in, and sold it to the other woman. I still don't get it why the business would be concerned about the customer hoarding anything. OP pre-ordered and should have been able to buy the next week.

But did she pre pay for the stuff she ordered? If yes, she has a legitimated gripe. If not, she doesn't. They have to sell the merchandise to the first customer that will pay for it. They can't be holding a lot of stock waiting for someone to finally pay for it. Their capital is tied up there; they need to turn the stock.

Things are a lot different now than they were a couple of years ago.

I'll tell you what, if I want to stockpile feed, Im stockpiling feed!! If the store I buy from doesnt want my business, there are plenty more out there who do. I wouldnt go back to that ranch and buy from them ever again if it were me. Screw them. Its none of thier business what you do with what you buy after money changes hands. I also would of reemed my so called freind a new one after her discussing me with the owner. There are several stores around where I used to shop I no longer frequent for one reason or another. Once I decide that, I dont change my mind. I would tell the ranch, thanks, but no thanks, and I will be taking my business elsewhere and my kid will be taking lessons elsewhere also. Good for you.
