SOMEONE HELP!!!!

so margaret has a small prolapse again this morning. not at all like what we first experienced..i washed it off and sprayed real good with vetricyn, pushed it back in and it looked so good! then she tried to poop and it came out again. what can i do to make this stay in?

Oh, I see. Since it only needs to be temporary, I would just make sure that she stops laying for a few days. How often does she normally lay eggs? Once they are stopped from laying, it can take around 2 weeks to start laying again. I have had broodies who were broken and 2 weeks was the usual time it took to start laying again, although one was laying in a week. A two week period ought to help her vent to heal. You can use your own judgement on how long to let her stop.

I was also thinking a week or two should do it. The more often you can catch her pooping, and observe if it looks difficult or not, should give you an idea how she is feeling and if she is healing well.

How does she seem to be doing now?

she's doing so good you guys!! her poops are back to totally normal! this was her first egg so i don't know how often she lays  i guess i'll just keep bringing her in for another week? i'm just so worried about her body not being ready when she goes to lay another egg in a couple weeks  i would HATE to go through this again. but i will if i have to!

How is her vent looking? Is the prolapse still coming out sometimes?
actually it was crazy, i think it was day before yesterday where i had posted on here that it had prolapsed again, so i cleaned it and lubed it and pushed it back in...then she pooped and it came back out. so i was like :he then about 20 minutes later i went to push it back in and it had already went back in!!! and it hasn't come out since! :celebrate
