Sure those aren't the bones of some poor neighborhood child that they're gnawing on?

Reading this thread makes me soooo happy for our neighbors and lack therof. Yes, we live in a rental, but the house on one side is an elderly couple who lived on a farm their whole lives, and the other side is a rental that's empty half the time, and when it is rented, the police usually do a drug raid within a few months. The last tenant tried to tell me that my miniature poodles got out of our fence, busted into his house through the screen door, and tore up his couch. The killers.

Just keep your cool, sounds like you've been doing a good job of it so far.

If she isn't in a house right by yours, maybe she goes on regular walks by your house around the neighborhood? Keep an eye on anyone near your house. This whole thing is just crazy! Even if all you neighbors come together and say they hate your chickens is there really anything they can do about it, if you are caring for them properly?

If this person is going around the neighborhood I would go introduce myself to the new neighbor, take them some eggs if you can. And I would say that if they see your chickens are getting out to please come and let you know. I would explain what was going on before the crazy lady talked to them. Being that they don’t know anyone they may take her side thinking they are getting in good with some of the neighbors not knowing what a crazy person she is.

I haven't heard anything else. Not sure if she's just stewing and brewing up something worse, or if she's moved on to something else.

Anyway, I'm not doing anything. I've decided when you come across a big kettle of crazy it's best not to stir it!

Hey

I had a similar problem with my horses. Luckily it was nipped in the bud because the person in authority who was phoned happens to know me and my animals.

I just wanted to say for you to be careful! If this person hates your chooks so much, might they try and do harm? A few handfuls of rat poison thrown over a fence would do major damage to your birds and you wouldn't be able to stop them eating it!!!

I just hope that doesn't happen!!!! And that your problem has been sorted out!!! LOL

I have chickens and my neighbors have chickens but they like to sell everything they own and what they do not own, like my chickens I'm going to kill someone if they sell ONE MORE!!!!

They sell YOUR chickens? How on earth do these dirty little chicken rustlers get their mitts on your girls?

Can you band your birds?
Would RFID chipping work? (I know nothing about this.)
