easier said than done.

My friends joke about me being a little crazy for having chickens-38+2 turkeys+2 pygmy goats+1 donkey+1 llama+2 dogs+2 cats

Till they say how great it would be to have farm fresh eggs-hint hint. Or farm fresh chicken for dinner.

I know where U R at.. a friend / co-worker gave me 5. The lady that was going to take them did not , this was May 2009. I had watch all the chicks at work all day, I couldn't let a stranger take them. Hubby always " NO Chickens " LOL Can't return a B-day gift, right .
I soon ordered 7 more from " my pet chicken " . The back in the end of March I let the hens sit on a few eggs which turned into 7.. so I marked the eggs. 4 hatched, I lost one after saving him a few times. Must have been ill. So I bought 3 RIR from agway, because a hen was depressed as she wasn't on the eggs, stuck them under her & she just perked right up. Then I just hatched out 2 more. so from 5 to now 19 as I gave away one chick & lost another. I still want more......... I'm with

I too have the illness... I have managed to hold at 40 adults.... (hatching season is coming)... I have to admit that I have had chickens for over 15 years so I am a seasoned culler.

Practice makes perfect. You will reach critical mass and the problem will take care of itself... or... I will watch you on Television (Hoarders... ha ha)
