Well guys for 3 weeks I haven't "bought" any chickens (mostly b/c there havent been any for sale in my area recently)...BUT...

...2 of my bantys went broody sitting on 8 eggs...I dunno what I'm gonna do! I have to keep less than 20 in my coop or else I'm gonna over crowd them. If they all make it I will be forced to get rid of all of them and probably a few of my current flock...

...I must get a few marans, BUT I am waiting until spring. I just dunno if I can hold out that long!

Actually I'm planning on some special gifts this year from my babies.....I should say nothing because I never know who's on BYC! Oops, did I just tell my beloved Mother in Law that I'm sending her 80 beautiful roosters????? Love you Mom!

I will sometimes have folks ask incredulously... "How many chickens do you actually have?"

And then when I start counting, I realize I'm in trouble and I can't get out my bator.

I now have on my "For Sale" list

5 Wheaten Pullets.
3 GC Marans pullets/hens.
2 RIR pullets

And even after those are sold I'll still have too many.

I'm not going to let myself incubate until I'm under 30. I could be torturing myself for a long time, but I have no choice.
