Youd have to open it up and divide it into ten...although I did find that for pigeons you can do it as 750mg to 3000mg per gallon of water. I would stick to 1500mg (3 tabs)-right in the middle of that dosage. Keep in in her water for 14 days. Dont dump the water everyday or you may run out of tabs....

i could just drop the powder onto a halved grape. she'll swallow it all that way.

i dont think she'd drink enough water for it to be helpful like that.

Hope she gets better and can make a full recovery, I would check on the wounds and make sure they are draining and nothing snuck into them.

That was one brave hawk. I would have grabbed the buggars neck and slammed it silly in self defense after getting my bird! I would be so ticked!

if i had known it was a hawk at the time it happened, i would have.

i would have killed it and then fed it to the chickens.


i just changed her bandages and looked at the wounds again. nothing is inside of them, so i cleaned them up again and rewrapped her.

i finally got her to eat the grape stuffed with cephlex. she didnt like it very much, but i opened her beak and put it in. it was either choke or swallow, and she swallowed.

shes taking a nap now. i keep checking to make she shes still breathing. it freaks me out to have her sleep, but shes probably pretty worn out from being terrified.

i think im too protective. i keep looking at her and petting her every 15 seconds.

Yes, sending good thoughts for your bird. I sure wonder and figure the hawk got Cheeks and so thot..."another free meal" and thats why it was so brave with the one in your lap. That makes me so sad.

I am sure if you knew it was probably what took Cheeks, you woulda slammed the bird all over the place in anger. I feel for you so much, I just have two lil ones and I would be heartbroken too.

thank you. ill give you guys an update tomorrow and take some pictures when i clean her in the morning. should i give her a full bath? like, with baby shampoo?
