SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

Wow, I am sorry this happened. I thought our hawks were brave. Wow.

I hope she makes a full recovery. I have read of chickens on here coming back from really serious injuries, so I know it's possible.

I like this idea though ...

Hope your girl is doing better.

Well, this is just my opinion....I wouldnt get the wounds real wet at all, especially if they have started to clot up. They are too fresh just yet.

Just going by when I chopped off the end of my finger and after they stitched and bandaged it, they told me to cover it if I took a shower and NOT GET IT WET. Sorry, that sounds idiotic, doesnt it?

I know the wounds need to be kept clean, but you wouldnt want to break apart the clot/scab, if the blood has clotted over the wound, so I would probably not give her a full bath at all.

Maybe a betadine wash for her wounds tho?

Anyone with more experience, please, would this be correct?

Just read your post. Take her inside and put her somewhere where she will be clean and safe until the vet opens. Ues Neosporin. That's it, until you see the vet.

Oh JEESH!! You are haveing a bad time with your hens. I am sooooo very sorry. Please...be carefull now that the hawk knows where a "free" meal is, it will be back. Poor Cheeks...im guessing that was her fate as well. I hope your hen recovers. Keep us posted.

After you get your poor hen taken care of it sounds like its time to go out in the yard and lay on your back with a stuffed animal to lure and a shotgun and call "Here birdie, birdie birdie"

Hope that idea made you smile for a moment

shes going to be living the life of luxury for a few weeks, let me tell you.

Awww...that poor baby. I hope she feels better soon. She look good and bright eyed in your photos. I think the first 24 hours would have been the worse for her. Giver her a scratch for me.

yeah, her wattle got a little white right afterwards, but i stitched her gash, and packed the punctures, so she stopped bleeding.

shes doing 100x better today.

i just basically needed you guys to calm me down and tell me i was doing the right thing. haha

and she said thanks for the scratch

I'm so glad to hear and see she is on the mend.

What an experience for you both!

And keep an eye out, obviously that hawk has and knows where to try again...
