Someone STOLE my ducklings!!

There's no way a predator would kill them and get them out of the cage without leaving evidence.

Door was latched. And I assume was still latched when they came back to a few ducklings missing? This tells me that a person was involved.

Also, predators would have left evidence such as feathers. Birds typically don't go quietly when attacked, there will be a struggle.

I also have 6 grown pekin ducks of my own. How could they think some of them were theirs? They would have to know that all of a sudden I got 9…
They would have to be watching me…


And to answer some of y’all:

The cage is on the other side of the pond away from the road. It would be super hard for someone to see them in a passing car as they are going 50mph-

this all seems impossible

They couldn’t have thought they were being offered some for free. My pond is about an acre long. They would have to walk allll the way around the pond to the back to take them.

My first thought would be someone thought they were left there to die. I don't know how they could possibly assume that if your house was right there but people are weird.

If they thought they were left to die, why would they only take three?
I have a whole full grown flock too.
My house is right next to the pond.
