This past Thursday I went out to check on my hens (which are free range) after I head a big commotion from them. And when I looked at them one had a quarter size open wound on her back, between here lower pack and her tail. I cleaned it and ask my Vet friend to look at it. After looking at it he told me that it was too big to be sutures up. He gave me antibiotics and some sterile soap to clean here everyday.
I have her in a small cage while she heals. I guess there won't be any free ranging anymore.
How long before she can be with the others. I know she has to heal completely and she will have a bare spot on her back.
