Pepper was one of our RIR cockerels. We had three of them and he was the friendliest. He would let you pet him and pick him up.
Around 3am, I heard a noise outside my bedroom window, turned on the outside light, and noticed a hen running in the driveway. I went out to check and saw one of the other cockerels by the driveway too. Then I noticed that none of the four that were roosted on top of the pen were there.
Anyway, when I went over, I saw clumps of red feathers
I went to track feathers...I got pretty far, but came back to get the hubby so he could help. We're going to go back out in a bit. He suspects raccoon.
Ugh. Poor guy. We're going to have to force them to go in at night.
