In the Brooder

This turkey was hatched last night with assistance after about 18 hours of trying to unzip. He's the first turkey I've hatched. He spent the night in the bottom level of the incubator, but hasn't stood up on his own yet. Are his toes crooked? The bottom level floor is kinda like hardware cloth, but made of plastic. We've moved him to the brooder, lined with paper toweling. He sits upright in my hand, but falls over and flails on his own. Help?

Put him in a container. I like sour cream containers, but a poult may be able to jump out easily. The container needs to be the right size so he can't flip over. It should be able to push itself up more easily in a container. Line it with a paper towel. Turkeys can take a bit longer sometimes to get control of those big legs. Give it time and see. Good luck.

He's helping me can tomatoes at these moment. The container helped a lot. Thanks! Don't worry about his temp. :) It's about 100 degrees under my canning shed.
