I have a rooster (idk if it’s actually a rooster but that’s what everyone told me) and for the past few weeks he hasn’t been eating much and the past few days he’s just been standing in one spot for hours on end. I checked him and he was super skinny, i seperated him from the flock and fed him separate but idk what’s wrong with him. He hardly moves, I used to not even be able to catch him and now I can hold him sideways and he won’t even move

Inspect him closely for lice/mites especially around the his vent area. What does his poop look like? When was the last time you wormed him?
he died shortly after this, i checked him and he didn't have any mice visible and his poop looked fine.

Sorry for your loss. Did his eyes look normal on both sides? I would wonder about possible Mareks disease. Was he vaccinated for that? Chickens with Mareks can sometimes have ocular Mareks which may cause greying of the iris and an irregular smaller pupil.
his eyes looked normal, i have another chicken thats acting different to, she has the same symptoms he had and ive been giving her stuff to get rid of any bugs she might have and also to get rid of mites or lice, but ive looked all over her and havent seen anything. But her comb keeps getting paler and she gets better than goes right back down.

If you should lose another chicken, keep the body cold and call your state vet to schedule a necropsy. You can deliver the body in person M-F or ship it overnight via Fedex or UPS. Mareks disease may be a possibility, but there are cases of avian influenza occurring in many states. In any event, they should be able to give some answers.

How do I find where the vet is?
