Something wrong with chicken

If you can only get procaine penicillin g locally, the dosage is 0.25 ml (1/4 ml) given as an injection 1/4 inch deep into the breast muscle once daily for 4-5 days. They are taking many remaining animal antibiotics out of stores, so it may not be available.

Since you had suggested treating with safeguard in an earlier reply, is it because the pic of her stool shows she has a parasite? I bought the safeguard today, but I already started treating her with the penicillin yesterday before you had suggested safeguard. The penicillin was a powder I mixed with her water that she has been pretty good with drinking. She seems to be doing a little better than yesterday. I should still give her safeguard, too? In case it is a parasite? This was her stool this morning

You can give the SafeGuard orally if you want to worm her. Dosage is 0.25 ml per pound given for 5 straight days for most worms. Worm eggs are not seen in poop without a microscope. Do you see anything white moving in her poops?

No, I don’t see anything moving in them. But now I’m wondering about vent gleet? Her butt is such a mess.

Her messy vent could be from the runny poops and feather picking. Vent gleet can be a fungal infection, and signs can be red raw skin, a very fowl odor, continuous white discharge. You can try treating with some Monistat or miconazole cream given orally 1/2 inch twice a day. It can also be used as well on her vent. Have you started the wormer? In case of tapeworms, a more rare worm, Equimax horse paste is used. Here is what tapeworms look like, and they would be moving:

I don’t smell anything, but she does have continuous white discharge. I can hear rumbling/gargling noises coming from her. We bathed her last night, and we have to bathe her again. I haven’t started the wormer yet, I could use the wormer and the Monistat? This is what her vent looks like

Thank you for all this info! You have been a lot of help. I really appreciate it!

Also, I’m sorry, one more question. With the wormer, is it .25 ml a pound in water? Like a gallon of water? Or a little bit of water? It’s hard to find directions. :/
