Looks a good chair to keep in there. Why take it to the tip and replace it with plastic?

Well the wood just struggles with moisture, especially when pooped on frequently
I expect plastic will fair better in the long run

She's doing wonderfully this morning, no egg from her but I expected as much

I'll give her a little more calcium in a little bit to be on the safe side with her next egg, but I think we're going to be okay

Just came across this thread minutes ago. Glad to hear your beloved Dougie is doing better.

I've been reading about her life and antics for so long, I feel like I almost know her.

Well, final update for this thread, she laid overnight and the egg is totally normal!

Also while I was mucking out the pen a bit this morning, I found a circular piece of membrane, which explains the hole I guess... very weird though, how it must've popped out?
But all is well! So I'm not too worried anymore.
