Songs We Like

Since we switch themes, .
:lau sorry bout that.. Hehe.
I am going to be all over the map at all times.
I have every album/cd I own hubby converted to mp3 compression on another tablet I use in the barn, plugged into a small computer speakers set. I never hardly listen to the radio because of the repetitive programing.
I have 150 GBs of music that won't repeat it's self over and over like the radio does.
My musical taste stretches back and forth depending on what I am in the mood for.
If I switch the playlist to random, it would play for a month without repeating one song.
Some days classic country western or classic rock or 50's style or... Sometimes I really enjoy Hank Sr. & the next minute April Wine.
Hard to concentrate on a particular style when there is so much out there that the radio does not play.
When I posted the Johnny Cash video, I had just listened to 3 of the Rick Rubin produced albums.. It was the final days of one of my favorite all time artists. He went out with a bang!
God bless you Johnny! Your music will never be forgotten...:(

Who saved all their vinyl albums?
:caf
Hubby still listens to albums. He has boo-koo..
Here is one he left out.

You and I are like in a PARALLEL UNIVERSE. :thumbsup I also am diverse in my music. I also convert CD's onto my computer so that I can build long play lists of different genre. I play whatever fits the mood at the time. In my garage where I like to tinker with things, I have a CD player and a tall tower of CD.s. The player is not a high dollar unit, but it will krank up the volume so that I can hear tunes when outside doing things. (I do not play it loud enough to annoy neighbors). :) I don't have 150 Gigs of music YET. :celebrate but am working on it. I once checked the properties of my files and think it said 23 days non stop playing with no repeat. My actual numbers may be different now, but I am guessing you may go for 3 months with your collection. :lau.
As to LP albums............. well, I have a few boxes I refer to them as EXHIBIT A. Keep them only for the nostalgia of looking at the album covers. No longer have a running record player and do not need one. Most old records have been remastered onto CD's. I do acquire these, and most are pre-owned. E BAY luvs me. :lau.. Even if there is a slight scratch on disc, my computer is able to read and repair tune. (most time). Sometimes there is a slight hiccup on the melody, but no big deal. It still keeps playing to end.
8 Tracks................................:hit well my whole collection had to be recycled. I had to make PEACE with them and let them go. That tape material was not intended to last 30 years.:old..

What do you mean "saved"? I've still got mine, as well as all my cassette tapes. Like most of my hoarded "junk", they don't get used. I need that television guy to come and sort everything out and organise everything.
OMG... we have Lp's 33and a3rd... 8track, cassette and reel to reel. standard 8mm home movies as well as super 8. laser disc movies Before DVD and they were the size of a vinyl album record. I have hand me down 78 speed records on vinyl. digital age has ruined a lost art. analog recordings were tweaked by hard human work before a push of a computer button that made our lives easier by removing jobs as well as talent out of the picture at the same time.
album art was half of the fun of buying a record. admiring the artistic print on the jacket. now 99 cents a song replaced the joy on I tunes.
now sexy borderline pornographic poses and sexual gestures are shoved down the throats of today's youth in promoted videos and such
I guess I am too old and miss the simple days anymore.

Did you know that some modern artists are releasing on vinyl?

I agree with you. There was something about bringing home the record, taking it out, reading all the blurb on the cover, looking at the pictures, and putting it onto the turntable for the first time.

(I won't mention the HUGE number of videocassette movies I got off Gumtree and haven't made much of a dent in sorting through. The cost of replacing those for dvd versions would be enormous and I got them for next-to-nothing.)
